Let me introduce myself and the new Children’s Program “Shabbat Peila”.
My name is Clara Korn. I have been a Shul member for over 11 years. I have worked with children for over twenty years as a qualified nursery teacher in Israel and as a Cheder teacher in the UK and I have previously led the Children’s Service in our Shul for seven years.
Today, after a long break, I felt the need to give back to my community and volunteer to develop a new Shabbat program suitable for all age groups, with a new vision and targets: fellowship, unity, mutual cooperation, love and respect for our Shul and training a young communal leadership “garin” (seed of leadership).
Our program will be led by volunteer madrichim, young members from our community, supervised and directed by me to ensure that your child has an uplifting experience in Shul. You are more than welcome to come with your child, to join us, to get to know us and to see for yourself how it all gets done.
I would like to make you my partner in this new endeavor, because together we can achieve more and make possible what seems to be a very ambitious program. I am ambitious because our children are worth it. Because our community needs continuity, and our children are the guarantee of our community’s future.
Starting from Shabbat Bereshit, “Shabbat Peila” will take place from 9.30 am in the Shul’s basement next to the Children’s Library for school children grades 1-4, and in the Children’s Library for children ages 4-5. We will aim to finish in time for the Kiddush.
Please ensure your child’s arrival to the area provided for “Shabbat Peila’s” activities, where they will be introduced to their madrichim for that week. Our madrichim will work on a rota system, which means that your child might have different madrichim each week.
It is very important to understand that once your child is participating in “Shabbat Peila” she/he will be under our supervision, but if your child wishes for any personal reasons to leave the supervised area, your child will be ushered by one of our personnel to find you. Once your child is with you, your child will be under your responsibility only.
Please ensure that your child is with us or with you at all times during your stay in Shul.
Please fill the registration form which will allow us to know your children’s age group and needs.
