Let me introduce myself and the new Children’s Program “Shabbat Peila”.
My name is Clara Korn. I have been a Shul member for over 11 years. I have worked with children for over twenty years as a youth leader, as qualified nursery teacher in Israel and as a Cheder teacher in the UK and I have previously led the Children’s Service in our Shul for seven years.
Today, after a long break, I felt the need to give back to my community and volunteer to develop a new Shabbat program suitable for all age groups, with a new vision and targets: fellowship, unity, mutual cooperation, love and respect for our Shul and training a young communal leadership “garin” (seed of leadership).
Our program needs volunteer madrichim like you, young members from our community, so that together we will build a team to ensure that our Shul’s children will have an uplifting experience in Shul.
I would like to make you my partner in this new endeavor, because together we can achieve more and make an ambitious program possible.
Starting from Shabbat Bereshit, “Shabbat Peila’s” will take place from 9.30 am in the Shul’s basement next to the Children’s Library for school children grades 1-4, and in the Children’s Library for children ages 4-5. We will aim to finish in time for the Kiddush.
We will work as a team during “Shabbat Peila’s” activities, on a rota system, which means that you might have different chanichim each week.
It is very important to understand that once the children are participating in “Shabbat Peila” they will be under our supervision, but if the children wish for any personal reason to leave the supervised area, you will usher them to find their parents. Once the children are with their parents, they will be under the parents’ responsibility.
Please help us to ensure that the children are with us or with their parents at all times during their stay in Shul.
Please fill the registration form which will allow us to know when it is ok with you to volunteer your time during “Shabbat Peila”.
